| Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA), known as 3 ¦Á, 7 ¦Â dihydroxycholanoyl-n-taurine, is a conjugated bile acid formed by the shrinkage between the shuttle group of UDCA and the amino group of taurine. TUDCA was found in bear gall in 1902. It is the main bile acid in bear gall. It has anti***smodic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and gallstone dissolving effects. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (1) is an effective component of bear bile, and its chemical name is 2 -[[(3 ¦Á, 5 ¦Â, 7 ¦Â) - 3,7-dihydroxy-24-oxo-cholestane-24-yl] amino] ethanesulfonic acid dihydrate, developed by bestI pharmaceutical co***ny of Italy, was first listed in Italy in 1991, and was approved to be sold in China in 2007 under the trade name taurolite.
