| The main function of chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) is to reduce the saturation of cholesterol in bile. Most patients take CDCA (when CDCA accounts for 70% of bile salts), the lipids return to the state of micelles, and the cholesterol is in an unsaturated state, so that the cholesterol in stones dissolves and falls off.
